A Chinese New Year Bake Sale was held at the Township Senior Center to raise funds for the Township's Adopt-A-Senior Program. Sponsored by the Beading Group, a variety of baked goods were donated by generous residents for the sale.

- 2017 Food For Fines
The Hanover Park Police Department stopped by the Hanover Township Food Pantry on February 14 to drop off donations from their Food for Fines program. Residents receiving a parking ticket had the option to donate 10 food items instead of paying the ticket. Thank you to the police department for supporting the residents of Hanover Township!

- 2017 Sprint 2 Spring 5k
Hanover Township hosted its fourth annual Sprint 2 Spring 5k on Saturday, May 6 at the Izaak Walton Center & Reserve in Elgin. Over 200 participants came out to raise funds to assist low income Township residents in receiving needed dental services. Thank you to all our volunteers, sponsors, and supporters!

- 2017 Student Government Day
On Monday, April 24, 30 Streamwood High School seniors took part in Student Government Day at Hanover Township. Students were paired with elected officials and other staff to shadow as they learned the daily routine of local government. The day ended with a mock board meeting put on by the student board of trustees!

- 2018 - 1/9 Board Meeting
The Hanover Township Board of Trustees met to recognize several community groups for their support of the Township's holiday programs and inducted Streamwood resident J.D. Rucker into the Veterans' Honor Roll. The Board also approved a new policy that prohibits sexual harassment and approved the paying of bills.

- 2018 - 2/6 Board Meeting
A lot of what we do wouldn't be possible without our community partners and friends. We had a lot of them out at this week's board meeting presenting them with appreciation plaques for their support of the Food Pantry, our Adopt-A-Senior program, and the Township foundation. Those recognized include: Streamwood Guns n Hoses Association, Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, Groot Industries - West Chicago, Rodin, Village of Bartlett and Mike Tompkins & Matt Mulvey. The board also inducted Edward Farrugia of Bartlett into the Veterans' Honor Roll.

The Hanover Township Board of Trustees recently met to induct a veteran in to the Township's Veterans' Honor Roll, recognize a local business for their support and hear a report from staff on food insecurity in east Elgin.

- 2018 - 6/15 Senior Archery Shoot
The Izaak Walton League, Elgin Chapter conducted an archery program for Township seniors last week at the Izaak Walton Reserve in Elgin. This was a great opportunity for 18 seniors that learned how to shoot different types of bows at targets at various distances. The range opened last year as a partnership between both organizations. - 2018 - 6/19 Board Meeting
The Hanover Township Board of Trustees met last night and approved the purchase of two buses to transport seniors and disabled residents. The Board also inducted Streamwood resident Sebastian Kuehner (U.S. Army ret.) into the Township's Veterans' Honor Roll.

- 2019 - 7/16 Board Meeting
The Hanover Township Board of Trustees met last night to induct Bartlett resident Gregory Myers into the Veterans' Honor Roll. The officials also received a presentation from Tracey Colagrossi, Director of Senior Services on how the demographics and behaviors of older adults will be changing over the next 10-years. The board also approved the renaming of the Department of Welfare Services to the Department of Human Services, and the Department of Senior Services to the Department of Aging Services to better serve the community. The board will meet again on Tuesday, August 6, at 7PM at the Senior Center in Bartlett.

- 2019 - Jan 15 Board Meeting
The Hanover Township Board of Trustees met last night to recognize Immanuel United Church of Christ and Communities that Care for their support of the Township Food Pantry. The officials also inducted John Grant of Streamwood into the Veterans' Honor Roll. The board also approved committee liaison assignments and approved the purchase of a van for Hanover Township Youth and Family Services for programming support. The board will meet again on Tuesday, February 12 at the Township Senior Center.

On Wednesday, March 30, Hanover Township and State Representative Fred Crespo held their 5th Annual Job Fair at the Hanover Township Senior Center in Bartlett. Hundreds of residents attended and submitted resumes to over 65 area vendors.

Hanover Township and State Representative Fred Crespo hosted their 6th Annual Job Fair earlier today at the Township Senior Center. Hundreds of residents attended and over 77 companies were onsite collecting resumes and conducting onsite interviews.

Hanover Township hosted a Northern Illinois Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry on Tuesday, September 20 with Immanuel United Church of Christ of Streamwood. Over 130 Township families received food as a result of the generous support!

- A Matter of Time - Senior Services Original Production
On Friday, May 20, Hanover Township Senior Services put on their first ever, original production titled "A Matter of Time". Over 60 residents attended and enjoyed the production. All marionettes were hand-crafted by Township Senior Center artists.

Hanover Township youth celebrated Christmas early on December 15 with crafts, snacks, and a visit from Santa Claus at the Astor Avenue Community Center in Hanover Park!

January 17, 2017 the Township hosted its annual Auxiliary Staff Appreciation Dinner for over 50 members of the Welfare Services Auxiliary Staff. Volunteers were recognized for their years of service with a dinner served by staff and Supervisor Brian P. McGuire!
