Khaja Moinuddin was elected as Township Assessor on April 2021, having taken office on January 1, 2022. He is a licensed Civil Engineer (P.E.) and is a Certified Illinois Assessing Officer.

Khaja has significant experience with title examinations, research, field surveying, and construction of various capital improvement projects. He is a civil engineer by profession and has over 26 years of experience in the field of environmental and civil engineering. Throughout his career with INDOT and the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District, he has worked with federal, state, regional governmental agencies, City of Chicago, and several other municipalities on various capital improvement projects.

He previously served as a Hanover Township Trustee from 2016 - 2021. During his tenure, Township programs and services were greatly expanded, all while maintaining fiscal responsibility. He has also served on the Township’s Mental Health Board, the Diversity & Engagement Task Force, and the Finance Committee. He has also served as a Trustee for the Poplar Creek Library District and on the Zoning Board of Appeals for the Village of Streamwood. 

Khaja has a strong desire for helping others and giving back to the community.  As Township Assessor he is looking to serve the residents with professionalism, integrity and honesty while providing the best possible assistance.

Khaja has been resident of the Township for 16 years and currently resides in Hoffman Estates with his wife, Viqar, and children.
