    The Hanover Township Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, November 1 to conduct several presentations and also to appoint a new trustee. Streamwood resident Khaja Moinuddin was appointed to the trustee vacancy set to expire in April 2017.

    On Thursday, November 3, over 100 Township Veterans and their spouses came out for the annual Fall Veterans' Honor Roll dinner at the Township Senior Center.

    2016 - 12/20 Board Meeting

    The Hanover Township Board of Trustees met on December 20 to induct a resident into the Veterans' Honor Roll, recognize a community group for their donations to the Township Toy Drive and received a generous donation from Balance Family Chiropractic for the Hanover Township Foundation. The Board also approved tax levy ordinances, a resolution approving a transportation agreement with PACE and a resolution approving an agreement with Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital for services. Finally, the Board approved a resolution to place a question on the spring 2017 ballot regarding abolishing the Township Road District and consolidating with the Township.

    The Hanover Township Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, February 16 and presented several recognition awards to supporters of the food pantry in addition to approving contracts for services.

    2016 - 5/3 Board Meeting

    The Hanover Township Board of Trustees met on May 3 and inducted 3 veterans into the Township's Veterans' Honor Roll, presented the Hanover Park Police Department with a recognition award and received an update from the Township Officials of Illinois. Trustee Mary Alice Benoit also provided the Board with an update from the Mental Health Housing Taske Force.

    2016 - 6/18 Izaak Walton League Lodge Heritage Marker Dedication

    Hanover Township dedicated a Heritage Marker at the Izaak Walton Center in Elgin. Immediately following, residents attended an Open House at the property to tour the newly renovated building and receive updates on future projects.

    2016 - 6/21 Board Meeting

    The Hanover Township Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, June 21 at the Township Senior Center. The officials inducted two residents into the Veterans' Honor Roll, presented appreciation plaques to Food Pantry supporters and honored Boy Scout Troop 10 with an anniversary resolution. The officials were also presented with a recertification certificate for the Emergency Services Department from the Cook County Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

    2016 - 7/18 Round Table Discussion

    Hanover Township welcomed Pennsylvania Congressman Lou Barletta to the Township senior center this morning for a round table discussion with local police and fire chiefs, along with emergency services leaders. Congressman Barletta is a member of the House Homeland Security Committee and Chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management for the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. The congressman provided an update on the current issues from the nation's capital and heard from attendees on challenges facing local leaders. Following the event Congressman Barletta toured the Hanover Township Emergency Services (HTES) station in downtown Bartlett, learning about the work they perform in the community.

    2016 - 8/3 Mass Casualty Training

    The Hanover Township Emergency Services Unit held a Mass Casualty Training on Wednesday, August 3 at the William Tiknis Campus in Bartlett. Unit volunteers learned about the types of injuries to prepare for and how to extract trauma victims following emergency incidents. Thank you to City of Elgin-Government, City Services and Community News CERT and Boy Scout Troop 99 from the Village of Wayne for playing the roles of victims.

    The Hanover Township Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, September 20 to conduct several presentations and also to receive to presentations. The Board also approved two resolutions and took action on other new business items. The Board will meet next on Tuesday, October 4 at the Township Senior Center.

    2016 Annual Town Meeting

    The 166th Annual Meeting of Hanover Township was held on Tuesday, April 12 at 7:30PM at the Township Senior Center. In addition to voting in the moderator and Sergeant at Arms, the residents approved the minutes from 2015 meetings, received department reports, reviewed the presentation of the annual financial statements and the certification of accounts by the Trustees.

    2016 Celebration of Leadership

    The Hanover Township Committee on Youth (COY) held its Celebration of Leadership Awards Banquet on May 17 at the Township Senior Center. The committee presented awards to eight individuals in five different categories. Award recipients include: Khadijah Arastu of Timber Trails Elementary, Rising Star Award winner; Eugene Yong Jin Lim of Sycamore Trails Elementary, Rising Star Award winner; Jasmine Holloway of Tefft Middle School, Junior Leader Award winner; Adam Bajorek of Streamwood High School, High School Leader Award winner; Daniela Manzano of Gifford Street High School, High School Leader Award winner; Hannah Gronowski, Community Adult Leader of Youth Award winner; Christopher Seuffer Sr., Community Adult Leader of Youth Award winner and Luis Fernando De Leon of Laurel Hill Elementary, Principal of the Year.
