Youth and Family Services is a fieldwork placement site for both Graduate and Undergraduate internships.  Our internship opportunities are provided for graduate students  in the following fields of study:  Clinical Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy and Community Clinical Practice.  Training opportunities include the following: 

  • Clinical practice, including family therapy, marriage counseling, play therapy and individual therapy
  • Program development
  • Program evaluation
  • Policy writing
  • Live supervision, reflective teaming and clinical use of a one-way mirror
  • School-based group work
  • Community education
  • Participation on work groups

Undergraduate internship opportunities are available for students in the following fields of study:  Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Parks and Recreation, Human Services and Youth Leadership.  participate in our Outreach and Prevention Programs.  Training opportunities include the following:

  • Positive Youth Development Methodologies
  • Restorative Practices Methodologies
  • After School Programming
  • Outdoor Education and Recreation
  • Alternative to Suspension Programming
  • Substance Abuse Prevention Programming
  • Participation on Community Work Groups
  • Community education Presentations
  • Service Learning Trips
