Residents, officials, and staff gathered on April 11 for the 167th Annual Town Meeting of Hanover Township. Residents voted to approve the minutes from the last meeting, reviewed the Township's FY17 annual report and Township financials.

The Hanover Township Board of Trustees met on December 15, 2015 at the Hanover Township Senior Center. The board inducted Hanover Park resident CPL Saul L. Davis into the Veterans' Honor Roll and recognized John DeBello and his bowling team Tempo V for their generous contributions to the annual toy drive. The board also passed the FY 16 Tax Levy Ordinance, and concluded with a workshop from the Hanover Township Department of Community & Veterans Affairs.

On Saturday, November 14 Hanover Township held its annual Breakfast with Santa event at the Stars N’ Stripes Café at the Township Senior Center. Families enjoyed a home cooked breakfast and after children were able to meet with Santa and share their Christmas wishes.

Over 150 Township Veterans and their spouses came out for the fall annual Veterans' Honor Roll dinner yesterday at the Township Senior Center.

Hanover Township was in Springfield this past November to accept awards at the Township Officials of Illinois Annual Education Conference. The Township was presented with the Township of the Year Award, Elected Official of the Year Award, and Organization/Department of the Year.

Volunteers from the Hanover Township Emergency Services Unit were requested by a resident to assist in a basement pump-out in Bartlett early on Saturday, January 9, after a sump pump line became frozen.

November 1st boasted temperatures of 75 degrees and sunny! The Hanover Township Office of Community Health hosted an Autumn Nature Walk at the Izaak Walton Center & Reserve in Elgin. 19 Township residents enjoyed today's weather with fresh air and exercise!
