- 2016 Fall Food Truck Festival
Thank you to Toasty Cheese, Wiggle Waggles Dog Barkery, and Prairie Station for joining us as we fund raised for the Township's most vulnerable residents. Proceeds from the event went to the Home Delivered Meal Program. This program provides fresh, hot lunches Monday - Friday to home-bound residents aged 60 and over in the Township.

The Hanover Township Senior Services Annual "Got Art?" Show celebrated it's 10th year at the Hanover Township Senior Center. Art created by residents and staff was on display throughout the month of August.

Several hundred residents attended the 9th annual "Just For the Health of it!" community health and wellness expo at Hanover Township. Sponsored by Cook County Commissioner Timothy O. Schneider, Victory Centre of Bartlett, and Hanover Township.

- 2016 Holiday Bazaar
Hundreds of residents attended the two day event that featured dozens of vendors selling handmade goods and crafts throughout the Township Senior Center and neighboring Victory Centre. A Breakfast with Santa event was hosted on Saturday morning where dozens of children got to meet Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus after enjoying a delicious, homemade breakfast!

- 2016 Spring Senior Trip - New Orleans
Last month, 16 Township seniors visited and explored New Orleans! The seniors took part in several tours: walking, swamp, city bus, cemetery, etc. They also dined at famous cafés and resturants in the area.

- 2016 Sprint 2 Spring 5k
Hanover Township hosted its third annual Sprint 2 Spring 5k on Saturday, May 7 at the Izaak Walton Center & Reserve in Elgin. Over 250 participants came out to raise funds to assist low income Township residents in receiving needed dental services. Thank you to all our volunteers, sponsors and supporters!

- 2016 Student Government Day
On Wednesday, April 27, 34 Streamwood High School seniors took part in Student Goverment Day at Hanover Township. Students were paired with elected officials and other staff to shadow as they learned the daily routine of local government. The day ended with a mock board meeting put on by the student board of trustees!

- 2016 Supervisor's Community Service Awards Dinner
Over 140 people attended the 2016 Supervisor's Community Service Awards dinner on April 14 at the Hanover Township Senior Center. Awards were presented in the categories of Business, Service Club/Organization, Adult Volunteer, Senior Volunteer and Youth Volunteer. Congratulations to all of the nominees and award winners!

- 2016 Thanksgiving Meal Box Distribution
Hanover Township officials, staff, and volunteers distributed meal boxes to several hundred Township families on November 22 at the William Tiknis Campus in Bartlett. The meal box distribution was sponsored by Hanover Township, St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Streamwood, IL, Mary's Millennium Council #12801, Knights of Columbus, Streamwood Woman's Club, Streamwood Kiwanis, and Arnold-Heath Memorial VFW Post 5151

- 2016 Winter Women's Yoga Retreat
On Thursday, January 7, 14 senior resident enjoyed a Winter Women's Yoga Retreat at the Hanover Township Izaak Walton Center in Elgin. Residents learned basic yoga and meditation methods, received chair massages, and created their own vision boards on health and wellness.

- 2017 - 1/16 Hanover Park Fire Call Out
Hanover Township Emergency Services (HTES) was requested by the Village of Hanover Park Fire Department on January 16 to provide assistance at a structural fire on Evergreen Avenue. Nine HTES volunteers responded in five vehicles to light the scene and conduct traffic control around the incident, logging over 27 hours of service.

The Hanover Township Board of Trustees met to approve the tax levies and appointed new members to the Township's Committee on Youth. The Hanover Township Foundation was also recognized by The Veterans Network Committee of Northern Illinois for its support of the Honor Flight Program.

The Hanover Township Board of Trustees met last night to induct a resident into the Veterans' Honor Roll and recognized the Schaumburg Jaycees and Immanuel United Church of Christgroups for their donations to the Township Toy Drive and Food Pantry.

- 2017 - 4/15 HTES Emergency Training Drill
Hanover Township Emergency Services held its full scale exercise on Saturday, April 15 at the Spaulding Road rail yard in unincorporated Cook County. A train was simulated to have hit a vehicle and school bus with agencies responding to treat victims and assess the scene. Thank you to the 18 agencies and organizations for coordinating and participating.
