TIDE Transportation Program
TIDE “Ticket to Ride” Taxi Voucher Program
For many years, the Hanover Township Mental Health Board and A1 Cabs, Inc. have coordinated to provide the TIDE transportation program. The Mental Health Board is aware that transportation issues have long been a concern of families and individuals with disabilities. The TIDE program was founded to alleviate that stress and provide reliable transportation at a reduced cost for individuals with a disability working or participating in a work program. Once accepted into the program, transportation is provided to and from work sites and work training programs to residents of Hanover Township who have a physical, cognitive or developmental condition.
Individuals applying for TIDE must be a Hanover Township resident, 16 years of age or older, with proof of a physical, cognitive or developmental disability. Transportation is provided within the Township and up to ten miles outside the boundaries of Hanover Township. The reduced rate of the cab ride is determined after an individual has been accepted to the program and the mileage to/from work or work training has been determined.
If you or a family member is interested in learning more about TIDE or would like to apply, please contact the Mental Health Board Manager, Amanda Teachout, at 630-837-0301 or mhb@hanover-township.org.
