Hanover Township offers Illinois License Plate renewal services to everyone - Township residency not required. Illinois residents can renew their license plate stickers and leave with the sticker the same day*. Residents will need to bring their Illinois Vehicle Registration Renewal Notice or Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), Driver's license number and license plate number.
*Note: the Township is unable to renew license plates of vehicles needing to pass an emissions test
Fees & Payment Methods
Residents can pay with cash, debit or credit card (NO checks).
Cost of renewal sticker: Varies by vehicle type
Service fee for each renewal: $5
Processing fee for using credit/debit card: 2.13% processing fee of total cost.
