Hanover Landing
Hanover Landing is a permanent supportive housing initiative in Elgin for residents with disabilities to live independently.
Opened in September of 2023 through the efforts of Hanover Township, UPholdings, the Housing Opportunity Development Corporation, and Ecker Center for Behavioral Health, the facility is comprised of 39 one-bedroom units.
All tenants are eligible to receive comprehensive on-site supportive services, coordinated by the Hanover Township Disability Services Coordinator, in addition to staff from Ecker Center for Behavioral Health. The goal of on-site support services is to connect Hanover Landing residents with the services they need to thrive in an independent living environment.
For questions about the facility or to inquire about residency, please contact Kristin Vana at (630) 837-0301 or kvana@hanover-township.org.
History of Hanover Landing
In 2015, the Hanover Township Board of Trustees appointed a Task Force to research and identify mental health housing needs in the community. UPholdings was selected for their experience and passion in bringing supportive housing developments to neighborhoods in need. Following years of advocacy, community meetings, and funding requests, construction of Hanover Landing began in September of 2022 with doors officially opened one year later.
