Committee for Senior Citizens Services
The Hanover Township Committee for Senior Citizens Services is the voice of the older adult community, fostering new ideas and providing opportunities for fellowship and personal growth. The Committee is instrumental in encouraging independence, self-esteem and well-being among older adults by promoting the sharing of life experiences through volunteerism and community involvement.
This advisory committee to the Hanover Township Board of Trustees is made up of 7 - 9 residents who represent the senior population of the Township on issues and concerns of interest to older adults. Each appointed committee member serves a term of three years. The committee meets the 2nd Monday of each month January - November at 1:00PM in the Senior Center to discuss programs and services. Meetings are open to the public.
The fundraising arm of the committee operates the "Ye Olde Gift Shoppe" and Senior Center Vending Machines. Profits from sales are used to sponsor programs, pay for entertainment, purchase raffle prizes, and so much more.
