Utility Assistance Programs

Please note that all entitlement programs have specific eligibility requirements. Your Social Services Caseworker will be able to screen you for programs that you qualify for based on income and assets. Caseworkers assist clients in completing applications and providing information and referrals. Please visit the "Resources" tab for additional information.

  • LIHEAP- Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program
    • Assistance for Nicor and/or Comed utilities annually or as a monthly credit.
  • LIHEAP - Furnace Program
    • Begins October 1 to repair/replace inoperable heating systems.
    • Work is usually completed within 30 days of program approval.
  • Weatherization
    • After an in-home assessment, residents may have insulation, crack sealing, or other items completed to improve home's energy efficiency.
  • ComEd Hardship Program
    • One-time assistance on past due Comed balances. 
    • Must meet special criteria to qualify.
