Hanover Township (population 100,092) located in Bartlett, Illinois, is currently accepting applications to fill a full-time Director of Youth and Family Services position. The director is responsible for the operations of the Department of Youth and Family Services and Izaak Walton Youth Center by administering comprehensive programs and services for the Township’s youth and their families. The Department of Youth and Family Services provides programs and services including family therapy, after school Open Gym, Alternative Supports Program, tutoring, substance abuse prevention programs, and teen activities.
The director will plan and implement required action on policies and/or projects directly related to Youth Services that have been defined by the Township Administrator and/or the Township Board. Additionally, the director will perform a variety of strategic and administrative functions including financial management, personnel supervision, goal attainment, and internal and external relations. The director will also be responsible for assessing the needs of the youth and their families and develop programs and services that addresses these needs.
A master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services Administration or related field is preferred for this position. A bachelor’s degree is required. This position also requires four years of experience directing programs and services related to youth, including four years in a supervisory role. The successful candidate must possess strong writing, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as proficient knowledge in various software applications including Microsoft Office.
Starting salary is $100,000 (+/-) dependent upon candidate’s education and experience, plus an excellent benefits package, 40 hour/week position.
