Hanover Township, located in Cook County, IL, is accepting applications for four (4) Seasonal Snow Plow Assistants. Areas to include Cook County Bartlett, Streamwood, Elgin, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, and Schaumburg. General duties are snow and ice removal which include operation of Township 3/4 ton pickups and dump trucks with attached plows and salting spreading devices, in addition to clearing roadways and facility parking lots of snow and ice. Other duties may be assigned.
- The non-exempt position has a pay rate of $25.00 per hour.
- Hours are as-needed as it relates to winter conditions, which may include evening and weekend hours.
- The seasonal position is through the winter season, typically through March.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidates must have a valid Illinois CDL license.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Three years of related experience in roadway maintenance and snowplowing or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and offers of employment are subject to successful completion of a background check, drug screen, and physical.
- The position requires the ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time in all weather conditions and to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- The ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds, with assistance, is also required.
