Emilie Le Beau Lucchesi, author of Ugly Prey: An Innocent Woman and the Death Sentence that Scandalized Jazz Age Chicago will be onsite to discuss the history surrounding the first woman sentenced to hang in Chicago for the murder of her missing husband. Sabella Nitti was one of the women who inspired the famed play Chicago. Ugly Prey was picked by the New York Times, Crain’s Chicago Business, and Ms. Magazine as a summer reading pick!
