The Poplar Creek book group will read “Go Set a Watchman” by Harper Lee which is a continuation of the story of “Scout” and Atticus Finch from “To Kill a Mockingbird” set two decades later during a time of civil rights tensions and political turmoil. Jean Louise Finch returns to Maycomb, Alabama from New York City where she is now living. She learns truths about her own childhood, her town, her family, and the people dearest to her all resulting in putting her values and assumptions into doubt. This story is about the painful, yet necessary, transition out of the illusions of the past for Jean Louise personally, her family, and her town. Please join us for refreshments and discussion.
