The Poplar Creek book group will read “The Light in the Ruins” by Chris Bohjalian, a New York Times bestselling author. Join us Thursday, May 11 for a lively discussion and refreshments. “The Light in the Ruins” is a book set in two different times: 1943 and 1955 in Florence, Italy. In 1943 two soldiers—a German and Italian—arrive asking to see an ancient Etruscan burial site. In 1955, a serial killer is targeting the remaining members of the Rosati family. It is Serafina Bettini, with her own war history, who is assigned to find the killer. Registration required.
