California Here We Come

Between Los Angeles and San Diego, there are places which show the history of California, from a time when Spain established a chain of missions along El Camino Real, a period of Mexican rancheros and the lure of gold and other riches which brought settlers to the new state of California. We will re-live some of California’s colorful history, visiting the Missions of San Juan Capistrano and San Luis Rey, Leo Carillo’s Ranch, the Old Town of Temecula. We will visit Julian, first known for its gold mine, now famous for anything and everything made with apples. We will glimpse some of California’s flora, fauna, natural features and an off-beat museum. Presented by historian, Sara Drower. Light refreshments served. Registration required.
