Poland in Chicago; Chicago in Poland
Saturday, January 28
10:30 – 11:30 A.M. Donation: $6
Outside of Warsaw, Chicago has the world’s largest Polish population, but throughout the years much of that culture has been lost, mingled with others, or persists in the staunchest ways. Learn about the challenges of Polish immigration from the early 1800s to the present, and some of the traditions of Polish culture. Enjoy this multimedia presentation by Donna Urbikas who emigrated to Chicago as a child and wrote her memoir entitled, My Sister’s Mother: A Memoir of War, Exile and Stalin’s Siberia. Light refreshments served. Registration required.
