This month’s selection is The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown. In the spirit of the Summer Olympics, we read this novel based on the true story of the University of Washington’s rowing teams’ journey from Depression-era beginnings to winning gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. We watch the story come to life in the 2023 movie starring Joel Edgerton. Rated PG-13 for language and smoking. Runtime 2:04. A limited supply of books is available at the front desk to borrow.
