Guy Louis Gabaldon the Pied Piper of Saipan
Monday, April 3
10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Donation: $7
Born in 1926 in Los Angeles, Guy Louis Gabaldon was a street-smart kid from a troubled home. He traveled the neighborhoods with his shoeshine kit, ate at homeless shelters, and charmed his way out of trouble when needed. He joined the army as soon as he turned 18 and was shipped to the South Pacific. In Saipan, he was horrified to learn that Japanese soldiers and civilians regarded safe surrender as dishonorable. Dr.Emilie Lucchesi tells the inspiring story of a valiant man who fearlessly risked his life to save the lives of others and questions why history has not remembered him better. Registration required.
