Girl in Disguise by Greer Macallister
Join us for discussion and conversation of this month’s book, Girl In Disguise by Greer Macallister. Kate Warne was in real life the first woman hired by the famed Pinkerton National Detective Agency, back in 1856. She answers a newspaper ad placed by the Pinkerton Agency and begins her career fighting wrongdoers in Chicago as the nation heads toward civil war. With every new case, Kate must prove herself again and again. She is a single woman working in a very tough man’s world. Kate Warne has been described as the Mary Tyler Moore of her time. Refreshments will be served.
Book Discussion will NOT meet in June. Registration required.
