Understanding and Recognizing Style
Saturday, January 26
10:30 – 11:30 A.M. Donation: $6
This presentation guides participants to be able to recognize stylistic similarities in artwork from the Byzantine era, Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo and Neoclassicism. The objective is to provide insight into the artist's use of visual elements, principles of design and subject matter that make each style period distinct. Once revealed, participants will be more astute when visiting art museums, being able to recognize these characteristics even in artwork unfamiliar to them. Local artist, Denise Laurin-Donatelle will discuss. Registration required.
